I am the senior video producer
for Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Oracle
Corporation where I write, produce, direct and edit over 100 webcasts,
podcasts, customer quotes and video case studies a year.
I originally trained as an engineer, taking an HNC in micro electronics
as part of an apprenticeship at Analogue
Devises but left engineering in 1991 to become station controller
and 'Hold Jockey' for WPHJ one of the first corporate radio stations
in the UK which provided music and information to customers of WordPerfect.
Presenting became something of a passion for me during the 1990s and
I produced and presented shows on Thorp
Park Radio, Kingston FM, Radio
Cracker and Hospital
Radio Wey.
In 1996 I joined Oracle initially as Macintosh Support Specialist before
transferring to marketing where I have held the roles of Customer Visit
Center AV Manager, UK Webmaster and UK Knowledge Management Lead before
taking over EMEA video production and the management of the EMEA television
studio in 2001.
In my leisure time I enjoy photography, golf, cycling, playing drums,
DIY, and film making, I recently became program secretary for Reading
Film and Video Makers and am busy planning this seasons practical
classes.
